I keep this combination in my 46g. I have a group of Bosemani with SAE's, rosy loaches and galaxy rasboras. Rainbows will tolerate most community fish. but they are greedy feeders - you'll have to make sure theres enough variety/qty of food so the loaches and bottom feeders get their share. Also, yo...

What kind of tree is it? Could be surface rot, which means the branch isn't completely dead yet. This happens a lot for wood that's extremely porous, lots of microbes still alive and kicking in there. You might need to do the three B's - Blast with water jet, Bake in high temp, and Bleach (1 to 7 pa...

I just got a school of 9 galaxy's to go with my 6 rosy loaches. The keeper at my lfs mentioned that they prefer higher temps, 80F/26C and low water flow. The galaxy's are also not as timid as people have mentioned... they were actually trying to school with the spastic rosy's and the larger threadfi...

yay rosys!

Excellent! I'm planning to group a school of galaxy's with my rosy loaches. Looks like this confirms that they both exist in a lower flow environ. Now if I could only get mine to develop that red glow that everyone else's seems to have.. :? On another note, it's really quite sad that human activity ...

Welcome to NYC

Welcome to NYC! Depending on which borough you live in, there's different options for you. Frank is great, I just bought several rosy loaches from him and he's very helpful. If I'm not mistaken, most of his inventory is of the rarer/hard to find variety. Fishtown is pretty good if you live around th...

Thanks for the info. One of my red cherry shrimps just molted and surpisingly enough the SAE harrassed and killed it! Maybe it thought the shrimp was red algae or something.. I think I've changed my mind and I'm now considering rosy loaches instead. I want to keep with my theme of having every fish/...

Loaches and shrimp.

Hi All, my first post here. I was wondering, has anyone successfully kept loaches and red cherry or amano shrimp in the same tank before? I'm in the process of planting my 46g tank now, and I'm still pondering what I should stock it with. Right now I have amano's and red cherry with otto's and an SA...
