YoYos destroying plants
Hi, My YoYos do this too, I have tiny little holes on pretty much all of my plants. I use the Hikari Algae Wafers in my aquarium and cucumber etc and it makes no difference they continue to eat the plants. My solution is to replace the plants more often, if they want plants to eat, plants they shall...

River Tank Manifold Plumbing
Hi Geordie, I had the same problem as you, my mainfold started to float when I filled my new tank, as I had not got all the air out of it (cause I had caps over the outflow end to keep sand out until I purchased a powerhead), and I had 100kg of silica sand that needed to be either removed or reposit...

can i speed up the cycling process?
I have taken your advice newshound and am running the first of my new filters in the old aquarium. There are hoses everywhere! My 200L tank is right by our kitchen & front door, and there isn't much room but it was certainly the easiest option as I won't be disturbing by clowns. This will keep the m...

can i speed up the cycling process?
Thanks for your comments. I'm pretty sure my tetra died of old age, but I didn't want to go down this road unless it was a common practice, and it doesn't seem to be as I couldnt find anything on the web either, so my poor old tetra can be put to rest...which I would prefer. We picked him out cause ...

Can I speed up the cycling process?
Hi, Im sorry if this question has been answered before but I couldnt find it while searching. I am wondering if there is any way of speeding up the cycling process. I am setting up a larger tank for my clown loaches, kuhlis, catfish (various sp) & dither fish. The new aquarium is 137cm (length) x 60...

Substrate for aquariums
Hi Emma, Thanks for your post. Unfortunately I was one of those people who just assembled a tropical trank from species available locally, my tank was set up several years ago, and was based on the advice of staff at the aquarium centres I visited, unfortunately that info was less than adequate. In ...

Substrate
Thanks Thomas,
Good point (bout reflecting light), currently I have a darker gravel and I wouldnt want to stress them by such a sudden change, I also have some darker coloured sand so I might try mixing them and see what kind of result I get. Thanks.

Substrate for loach aquarium
Hi, I'm new to this forum and I am wanting some advice on setting up an aquarium for my clown & kuhli loaches. I am trying to find a substrate that would suit my tank. I have read loads of comments online that suggest that I need alluvial sand, I have been looking today a an industrial sand supplier...
