columnaris is the only thing that looks remotely the same but even that is a stretch. I'll increase water changes for quality and treat for it.

I know most of my other fish have the good sense not to swim up the outlet, but do I need to make some sort of grate to keep Botia Kubotai out, or are they smart enough to avoid swimming up a pipe that goes above water level?

My Kubotai punch holes in sword plants but leave everything else alone.

Why not just observe the tank and stir the substrate every week with a stick. Simple task that only takes 5 mins at least.
