Geaston,
I have no new PM's.
It's the electrons, they conspire against me.
Please try again.

River tank manifolds for sale.

Hi everybody, I've been gone for awhile and unfortunately was never able to set up my genuine Hillstream tank. I still have my daughters 25 gallon tank to enjoy and that will have to suffice for now. I need to spend more time with my son while he's still home and I found a common hobby that we both ...

Are those D. aequipinnatus (Giant danio) or some other Devario?
Just wanted to give credit to who got it right first.
Nice call on the species Jim.

Here's another link with a bit better write up.

here's the link for D.aequipinnatus, but again not nearly as vivd as Vancmanns fish. http://www.danios.info/fish/aequipinnatus.aspx I wonder :?: Would these tolerate the parameters of a Hillstream tank. Totters off for more research. Biology: Inhabits hill streams up to an elevation of 300 m (Ref. 4...

I've been searching the web trying to identify these and so far it appears these are some type of Devario but none of the pictures I can find even compare to the beauty of these.

Emma, Thanks for the name of the beautiful crypts. I've often read that Anubias, Java fern and Java moss are good Hillstream plants but that Crypts are not a good choice. I saw those in your tank and said "man I have to ask her what those are". I'm guessing that the Cryptocoryne balansae are able to...

Emma, Those tanks both look great! I'm especially impressed with the amount of plant growth that you've achieved. Could you please share some of the details for achieving such lush growth? Do you add fertilizer, Co2, and what about lighting? I'm still up in the air on lights. Originally I intended t...

New River Tank progress

The LFS had their big sale last weekend so I picked up this 75 gallon tank for $89. I’ve already built the manifold and am using the same pond pump prefilters as on the practice 55 gallon tank. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/killforfood/Aquarium/75gallonrivertank017-1.jpg For filtration I’m ...

Just an update on the powerhead mods. I’ve found that a 1 ½” hole saw is the perfect size to increase flow to the impeller. It’s much faster than my pocket knife and makes a much more uniform hole size. For you folks across the pond, try a 40mm hole saw, its only slightly larger. I took Martins advi...

Very nice detail. My camera is 3.2 mega pixel and I can't get anything even remotely close to the quality of those shots.

I drank the whole bottle of AmQuel and I still don't see the Penguin. Let's see here, maybe some of this powdered regent will do the trick :)
