Thank you very much for the ID. I had discounted Pseudogastromyzon Fasciatus as I didn't think the body markings looked right, but it is a very apt name considering the way they 'stand up' to look around. 8)

Thanks again

New Hillstream Loach ID

Season's Greetings everyone :D I bought these 5 guys from my lfs just before Christmas and haven't been able to identify them. I have looked through the Loach Species index, but can't find a match. Sorry, but the photos are not very good and excuse the state of the glass... (They would only p...

Thanks everyone I know that in a central heating system a corner slows the water flow the equiv of an additional 3 foot of pipe. I think T's cause a similar disruption to the flow. At least a central heating system doesn't have snails to contend with, unlike river tanks and golf courses. I am ...

River tank manifold

Hi I have finally taken the plunge and bought a new tank for my hillstreams. They are currently living in one of my old tanks which is too short, wide and high for a river tank, although they seem to be doing really well with a bit of a make shift setup. I only have room for a 1.2m tank, so it isn't...

Still clicking on Albert. :D

Must admit though, I really like the picture of Bob the Lion Fish, also in the top 20. Beautiful fish and superb photo. :D

And the Threadfin Rainbows, but they only have 26 votes so not in the top 20.

Go Albert!

Hi Thanks cybermeez & bslindgren I really love kuhlis, and do have more than 2. Can anyone stop at just 2? I have the 2 Shelfordi and 6 Alternans, 3 Myersi, all tubby like the one in the photo, and 4 other striped Kuhlis but I am not too sure what they are. (Well, I think I have 3 Myersi. One ...

Just added votes 400, 401 and 402! :D

Albert is a lovely fish. Mind you, that looks like quite an impressive angel exiting on the left too.

I am glad that the number of votes doesn't decide the final winner. That should get rid of the current top 2 photos. :D

Good luck Mamaschild

Hi Martin Thank you for your response. They do have a lovely range of loaches in MH Aquatics at Peterbo'. I have bought most of my hillstreams from there, and they are lovely fish. The photo is the best my poor photography skills and inadequate camera can produce. I am hoping to get a better camera,...
