Do Yoyos group together?
Hey guys, I have 3 Yoyos in my 50 gallon along with tiger barbs. The Yoyos always seem to tussle with each other when passing by and I have not ever seen them huddle together during nap time. Would getting a couple more Yoyos convince them to huddle together occasionally? As of now, each one has its...

Re: Feeding Yoyos solved [Shrimp / Flakes above water line]
Well, it's been awhile since I was last here...my how time flies. Update: I have upgraded to a 50 gallon aquarium which houses 12 Tiger barbs, 1 4" Bristlenose and the 3 Yoyo loaches which are now about 3" in length. For a long time I had trouble feeding the Yoyos, since the Tiger barbs kept dashing...

Re: Loaches/Algae Eaters
Thanks for all the suggestions folks. I'll nab the 4" BN out of the 20g. and see how it goes with the loaches in the 38g. I've had her for about 2 yrs. now and she's still scared of me if I get too close; scoots under a piece of driftwood. Yet she does do a super duper job of cleaning the algae. Her...

Re: Algae Eater suggestions for Yoyo aquarium
Hello folks, I have a 38 gallon with tiger barbs and yoyo loaches; the tank has been in operation for about 2.5 months and I am starting to turn my thoughts to an algae eater. Recommendation? I am concerned that a bristlenose plec. will out compete the yoyos. Yoyos are 2.5". Reason for hesitation wi...

Re: YoYo Loach: Ideal temperature?
What's the ideal temperature for Yoyo loaches, to avoid ich, etc? IMHO you are barking up the wrong tree here as ich exhibition is substantially due to stress. >Thanks for the feedback Jones; no offense taken. The flashing was likely due to the 0.25 ppm Ammonia that was present, likely causing the d...

Thanks for the feedback. The little bits of food look like cod or tilapia, but for all I know it could also be particles of banana. They have had 3 feedings of this frozen mix so perhaps they are still getting used to it, or picky like you suggested. They don't seem to bother chasing after the parti...

YoYo Loach: Ideal temperature?
Hi folks, Aquarium: 38 gallon, temp.82F What's the ideal temperature for Yoyo loaches, to avoid ich, etc? I did notice flashing within the first couple days of buying the loaches so I increased the temperature to 86F for a week, then backed off to 82F. It's now been 2 weeks and so far the flashing ha...

Re: Assistance feeding Yo-Yo Loaches
Hello folks, I just joined today. This looks like the right place to get some good tips on my new purchase as of yesterday: 3 2" Yo-Yo loaches These loaches have been placed in my 38 Gallon aquarium that include 7 Tiger Barbs. They seem to be a little shy now, hiding in a large cave. The Tiger Barbs...
