Bad chain store
There is one chain store near us that I will never enter again. A few of the tanks within a bank of tanks had "sick" written on the tank in grease pen. When someone else asked about the other fish, the employee replied that the other tanks were safe as the sick fish were already treated. The sick ta...

Algae
I have some in my 10g tank. It started while on vacation for a long weekend. I scraped the sides of the tank twice and the stuff kept coming back. Mind you, I thought it looked interesting on the fabricated rocks so I left that alone. I then got 4 Otocinclas to handle the problem. They cleaned the f...

So sorry
I'm so sorry to hear about your beautiful fish. I wish you all the best of luck with curing the problem of the thread algae. I hope this is the only fatality.

AmQuel+
I used Amquel+ twice when I had an ammonia spike after going away for a quick weekend. The problem that results was giving a false positive on certain test reagents. So even though the level of ammonia was high, it was the harmless form, ammonium. It took 2 weeks of 20% water changes 2x week to actu...

B. Kubotai
I have 3 and they are just the funniest guys to watch. I also have 4 long-finned rosey barbs. The botia don't bother them at all, although that could very well be because all are so active. The smallest one occasionally hangs-out with the rainbow shark also with no problem. As for food, mine have be...

Ick
I just finished treating my tank for ick. IMO, it's too stressful to take out the dojo's and treat them separately from the rest of the tank. (All the fish need to be treated not just the visibly infected one.) I used Ick Gaurd at half strength (per directions). It did take 2 doses, but all's okay n...

more
I was trying not to think about it. I really shouldn't get another tank for a few months anyway. Hopefully he will still have some then. I should quit looking at that site -- I keep finding little jewels for the tanks.

Congratulations
Way to go on your beauties. I was also looking at that auction and deciding if I could get away with another aquarium for them. I'm glad you found them. It's nice to know that they are going to a good loach home. Please post pictures when you get them. If it wasn't me, I'm glad it was you.

Botia sidthimunki
On AquaBid these are listed. Can anyone who keeps these guys pass on any information? Are they still on the endangered list? Is the price decent? Thank you for your help with these guys.

Kubotai and fins
I have 4 Long-fin Rosey Barbs and my 3 Kubotai hae never nipped their fins. Just lucky for me. I wish you luck with your problem. Unfortunately I have no insight to offer.
Those poor angels and gouramis, how stressful.

Temperature sensitive
The rainbow shark gets stressed when the temperature goes above 80. I did use it at half strength from the bottle. At 8p at night, my choices were limited. Does anyone keep medications around "just in case"? If so, which ones? I heard that some aquarium salt might also help, but I'm concerned about ...

Ick, Ich. Now what
Just when my little guy quit saying "My fish are dead" (which by the way none of ours died yet), ich comes along and ruins my evening. I wasn't even going to do a water change today since my parameters were spot-on. But, low and behold, there it was. Crap  . Off to the store I go and get Marde...

Input
You are absolutely right, Martin. That tank is way too small for any loach. I decided to make it just a Betta tank for my little guy, it's what he wants in his room. I honestly didn't want too big of a tank in his room for all practical purposes (he's 4). After reading the other posts and articles, ...

No loaches with bettas
First of all, let me say sorry for the confusion about the size of the tank. 6.6g long or a 10g. I do tend to forget that when typing. I really appreciate all the help that's been given. So to keep the fish happy (and my son from driving me nuts), I believe I'll get the 10G with a divider for 2 male...
