Thanks all, I decided to go with the Flourite since I plan on trying a planted tank anyway. I had to buy 3 bags... ouch!

Thank you for the reply. :) Do you think the Flourite black sand would work? It's expensive but if my loaches will be able to root around in it, then it's worth the cost.
