That is exactly what happened when we went on holiday and left my fish in the capable hands of a friend. Not familiar with this behaviour I got an urgent message what do I do Botia not good, on its side. Don't worry was my reply.

Anyone explain the strange behaviour of laying on its side and "breathing" rather rapidly, happens often especially after feeding?

Thank you for your comments, will stop feeding Lambs heart unfortunately two more died today - erratic swimming,gasping, loss of colour and eventually death within a few hours. All other fish seem fine
