random shot at night, when they didn't expect me to bust their little loach orgy. <insert evil laughter here>

Enjoy,

Yep, they catch a lot of clown loaches using bamboo poles. Various diameter poles capture different sized fish.starsplitter7 wrote:Do they do this in the wild?
Yes, it's bamboo. I don't have any problems with it - but I have two little ancistrus catfish who obviously like its taste - without any "abrasive" algae eaters bamboo sticks would probably start to rot in a tank (the ancistrus are grinding bamboo down faster than it can decay).starsplitter7 wrote:Does anyone know why they do this? Do the fish get abrasions from jamming themselves in like this?
What kind of tube is that? Is it bamboo?
Thanks so much.connor wrote: Yes, it's bamboo. Abrasions .. close to none. As to WHY they do it .. who knows .. since they are very social fish, perhaps they just like to hug?
