I've got 4 Celestial Pearl Danios in a heavily planted 10 with a couple of otos. Been thinking about adding some rosy loaches, but I'm not sure if a 20" footprint is big enough for them.
I'm also hoping that some day these guys will see fit to give me baby CPDs - would I be spoiling my chances by adding the loaches? I assume they would eat any eggs.
rosy loach in a 10 gallon?

10 gallons is too small for any type of loach long-term, even the smaller species.
Even in a larger set-up you'd find that most, if not all, loach species would be avid egg eaters, so your chances of successfully rearing a good number Celestichthys margaritatus would go down significantly.

Thank you, that's an easy decision then! I was pretty sure I wouldn't want to add rosy loaches because they'd eat any eggs, but I just love the thought of having them together with the CPDs. If it's too small a footprint, I don't have a choice to stress about (at least not yet!).
Newshound, do you mean you think I'm overstocked right now with four CPDs, or do you mean long term if they multiply? Over on the CPD forum, most everyone seems to be keeping much larger groups in ten gallons (not that majority=right, of course). Anyway, what size tank would you recommend?
