clowns fighting
I just got a couple small new clowns as well as polka dot loaches. Needless to say, they all came down with ich.
The four clowns - after almost a week - are still fighting each other for dominance. Just how long does that go on? Two clowns go out on their own and are quite often chased by the other two. Two are together quite a bit peacefully but then square off for a bout of tail slamming, biting and pushing. This is day 6 and they are still at it.

it depends. in my tank at least the yo-yos fight daily (i've had them for a year now). the dominance sometimes switches and sometimes takes a while to establish. as long as there are no injuries i wouldn't worry. try adding another large thick plant or a cave to help if one feels scared it can call it it's own. *remember they like tight spots, don't ask me why.
many tanks...
got to love my fat little wobbly wigglies...

LOL ... the entire end of the tank has wall to wall plants. That's where they fight. There are 4 clowns and 9 caves already. Of course, all the clowns and polka dot loaches pile in with the pleco. The polka dots burrowed under the log cave and sleep there. The pleco lives upside down on the far end of the cave made from slate. The clowns stay in the center cave part or the side nearest the driftwood. I put two log caves near one another and slanted slate on either side as well as the top creating 1 cave with 5 sections.
The Yo Yo's in the other tank have settled the leadership role but still tear around the tank after one another. I need to put a pleco in there next month.

Well one good thing is that they were all skinny as the blazes when they arrived last week and they now have little pot bellies!!
It's a Golden Nugget Pleco...

He's just getting brave enough to come out late in the afternoon and hang off the driftwood branch. Sometimes he'll tour the tank but not for long. You won't see him until about 4pm.
