Is it me, or is this actually pretty funny?

"using so much of my time fpr nothing"
Hmmm, maybe remove the pic when asked politely the first time would be a good suggestion if you don't want your time wasted?

Anyway, I've been having a bit of a week where I should have stood in bed... but this provides some comic relief.

My favorite part was how if Emma didn't want her pictures stolen, she shouldn't put them on the net.....this guy sure has balls.

I'll admit his reply pissed me off even more. I thought about contacting some of the publications that he's written for and sending copies of his email...I wonder how they would like his thoughts on IP theft as an author for their publications...

my wife does tags on the pc in various groups, as far as she can see Emma's and Graeme's pics are not copyrighted,
therefore anyone can use them,
if it showed the copyright symbol then they should ask their permission.

ps mine has the copyright symbol on pics i think are good.

So how is it when they are part of the main site content when those pages have copyright?

Anne my wife says, the pics belong to the person that took them and the site has no comeback if they are used by these thieves.

I think this used to be the case Mick, certainly in the US, but copyright is automatic in most jurisdictions these days. Explicitly stating the work is under copyright is helpful but not doing so doesn't mean it isn't copyrighted.

The whole thing is complicated across international boundaries of course.

Like i said, I'm in a mood this week...

Here's what I sent back to him....

Thanks for your rant.

Since you did mention the publications that you write for, I'm going to drop them an email with your responses showing how little you value Intellectual Property.

I'm sure that you think anything on the internet is yours to steal, but it isn't like that.

Several people including the author of the pictures have asked you nicely to refrain from using something that isn't yours. At first, they thought it might be just an oversight on your part, but you've now admitted that you don't care that you are violating specific county laws as well as international laws on IP theft and you did it maliciously and without any regard for other peoples rights.

I'm also forwarding these to the author so that they can use them if she
decides to pursue legal action against you.

I'm sure that the people you submit articles to won't appreciate the way that you treat other authors rights.

I'm sure that your parents are proud that they raised such a person who doesn't respect the property rights of others. If there is any justice in the world someone will steal your work and treat it like you treated others work.

Cheers,

Kevin

Just a few minutes ago I got this back, so mission accomplished. I can now end the week with just a little bit of satisfaction.

Calm down,i removed the pictures from the ad and from my pc.
So much fuzz about a picture.
