Gastromyzon sp?

I've just picked up a few of these chaps the other day. They are all 'tiny' around 1 inch if not smaller. Sorry about the picture quality as they are spending time at the rear of the tank. I'm sure Martin and Jim have these. Unfortunately my pictures don't show the red/rosey and blue colouring on their caudal fin.

Both unidentified species according to Dr. Tan....mind you in his book, we'll have to see :wink: . Had mine quite a while. Nice fish.

They look like some of the(SK) gastros I have seen on petfrd.

Hmmm.... is the 1st Martin's Gastro a species or a variation?

I saw him today, I think.
(In the process of moving about 35 gastros mentioned on the erromyzon thread to a Q tank...painfully slow even with a gold credit card...but gave me a chance to take a careful look)

I thought originally, based on an original description that this was Gastromyzon ridens. Both these fish were thought (possibly) to be part of a G. ridens "complex" by Dr. Tan.

By the way....these colour differences are pretty accurate, and this is 3 different fish depicted.

The colors of the fellow I saw seemed identical to the "normal" gastros and I believe the tail was punctulatus'. OK, I should see this fellow again pretty soon, will try to bring the camera along, it is not worth it wasting your time with verbal descriptions.

Cheers! :D I couldn't resist at £2 each. I also scored with some Puntius denisonii at £3 each. 'mislabeled' :wink: Normally around £10 each! Heheh! 8)
