which Loach

Post by abaigael04 » Wed Jul 23, 2008 2:01 pm

OK So I will not be setting this tank up for awhile - not until I finish my current tank and then I have to buy filters and cycle.... ANYWAY-- just a question on which Loach would do best in a 65 gal tank (footprint 3 ft x 18 in)? I was thinking of doing some celestial pearl danios as my dither fish. I was thinking Sids, but I don't know if I can get them - is that my only option? I really like the sidths, though. this tank probably doesn't have an hope of being set up before Christmas at any rate but I want to start figuring out what I am going to do with it and what I will need (made a half joke today that I would ask for a filter for Christmas!). Thanks!

I don't know HOW I forgot about them - but I also LOVE kuhlis - but no one around here carries them (they say they have a hard time acclimating them?). thoughts? I am no sure how hard my water is (I am going to buy a test but for now do not have a test for it) but my ph out of tap is 7.6.

A group of Kuhlis would work in a tank that size...sand would be a good substrate for them and the Pearl Danios would be a good dither for them. I have a friend set up with this combo in a 3ft tank and they are happy as can be. Hope this helps.
