My Botia Kubotai (Pics)

Post by Botia Robert » Fri Jul 25, 2008 8:54 pm

Hi all, This has been a long time coming! I eventually got myself some B. Kubotai and I finally have some photos for you guys.

I have 16 Botia Kubotai in a 4' x 2' 2' (tall) tank, with some other Barbs, a few Corries, a couple of SAE and the Albino Bristle Nose.

With 16 Kubs I have quite a variety of patterns. They are about 2" on average and apear happy most of the time. There is the occasional flashing which unsettling for me even if it is normal. I was wondering how long does it take for them to become "chubby"?

I am still learning how to use this camera, so that is why the pics are fairly ordinary. At least I got you some pics!

With a nice size pack the loaches can usually be found in groups.

Here you can see the sky blue dots as well as the marble couloring.

The Kub on the left shows a dramatic variation from the traditional Kub patterns.

They are beautiful, Robert! 8) It is so nice to see them in a big group like that. They don't look too underweight either (they often tend to come in a bit on the skinny side). I have a pic of one that is similar in pattern to your 'strange' one.....will try and find it to compare.

Not quite the same, but similar.

I am really glad I got a big group of B Kubotai too. :D In the shop they were simply irrisistable.

I will keep you all updated with photos as they progress.

When I sit in front of the tank, sometimes with the camera, nearly all the loaches come right up to the glass to see me. ? I thought Loaches went and hide away. ? Has anyone else noticed this? Or do mine just want their pic taken?
