Baby clown loach fight

Post by Ashleigh » Thu Nov 06, 2008 12:09 pm

Im just after watching my 4 little 1inch clowns have it out with one another over a blooming plant of all things. It would appear theres something so tasty there that its not worth sharing

I managed to snap a few photos of them 'greyed out' :D

Pretty cool that you could catch it on film & show us.
2 questions....

1...what is that plant?
2...(may seem like a dumb ques) Is the red area behind their eyes where the sub-occular spine protrudes from?

Thanks :)

The plant is Lobelia cardinalis
No if you look at the loach in the first pic on the left, you see a fine line/dent under the eye, the suboccular spine runs from just infront of the eye to under were you see that line when its not raised.

If you have a look at the link below, one of the last few pic's shows a clown with the spine rasied-it should give you a better idea of were it is located :)
