What is good to feed my loaches.

Post by raecarrow » Sat Dec 13, 2008 9:05 pm

Hey everyone.

I have discovered foods that all my loaches love. Frozen brine shrimp and blood worms (red mosquito larva is the other name on the container). Actually, the first time feeding the blood worms was the first time I saw my yoyo eat as soon as i fed and he loves the brine shrimp as well. How often is it good to feed these foods to my fish? I also have Guppies that eat this food as well.

Thanks,
Rae

I usually feed my fish some kind of frozen food about every other day, alternating between home made fish food and any of the frozen worms and stuff. I just bought 7 different kinds of frozen food tonight.
Brine Shrimp
Spirulina enhanced Brine Shrimp
Blood Worms
Mosquito Larvae ("White worms")
Tubifex
Daphnia
Emerald Entre (a plant and meaty blend)

Blood worms are said to be high in fat, so I would not feed them more often than about once a week (especially if you are feeding a large rotation of foods)
Brine Shrimp are not so rich in fats, but are raised in salt water, but I do not know if this makes them salty or not.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!
