Have they had shrimp before? They may not recognize it as food to begin with.

I put mine on a fork and stick the fork in the gravel and turn the lights off. It is gone by morning.

If anything's left in the morning, I pull it out and throw it away. I have a lot of loaches in the tank. It doesn't last long, and my plain pleco is pretty fond of shrimp too. I have to bribe her with zucchini.

Crush it with your fingers more so they can eat it easier.

I leave shrimp in my tank overnight but I am feeding large numbers so the shy get a chance that way, if it is still there in the morn that is too much food so remove that. Corn on the cob takes a week to be eaten completely btw.

Pre cooked shrimp is all you need , just thaw and crush with your thumbs into the tank, The smell will be more intense than if you boil it again. They will take a few times before it is recognized by all as food.

I thaw mine in the tank myself as it is about 80, it only takes a few seconds of rubbing them with your thumb to completely shred them from frozen.
