6g, 75gph hillstream?

Would a 6 gallon tank with a 75 gph flow rate from the filter be acceptable for a hillstream/borneo sucker loach? She'd be kept with a single dwarf puffer, who likes the flow as is. Thanks!

I would not trust a Puffer with any other fish. They can be quite aggressive, and have a sharp bite. They can go along fine for weeks or even months, then suddenly turn on their tank mates.

I wouldn't use a 6 gallon tank for other than shrimps, snails or drinking. And a dwarf puffer is fish that should be kept in a group, not alone.

the area inside is just to small it does'nt really matter how much water flows through it, the fish need to form a territory and in such a space it just is'nt poss, sorry

a tank with these dimensions and your filtration would be ideal. 18"x12"x12".

agreed, definitely at least a pair. being alone generally makes them more aggressive in general. also, if they are anything like dwarf green spotted puffers, the swift moving water would drive it nuts.

I posted this reply before...but it seems to have disappeared. SO, to clear up some misconceptions about dwarf puffers - they're perfectly happy kept alone, need only 3 gallons for bioload and 5 for territory, and with 2 or more aggression issues can rise up. The couple of people who've tried em for years on the dp forum with hillstreams have had no problems. That said, my loach will go in the bigger community tanks.
