Ok..... I see....helen nightingale wrote:Angelfish has several imaginary friends called undescribedspecies and others i cant remember right now. he has a habit of coming across here as quite blunt and rude, and has upset quite a few people.

In "my" swedish forum we also have developed a internal jargon within the group wich can be hard to follow for newcomers...

Oh! Thanx!helen nightingale wrote:i will have a look around mongafish, and see what i can find. you are right, it can be hard to get around, but worth the effort if you have plenty of time.

Of course!!!!helen nightingale wrote:i hope you get on well with your biotope tank. it would be great to see some pictures of it when its all set up and stocked. let us know how you get on.

I didn't realize I might have offended Clown with all the compliments I threw his way in my post
I HAVE to be more careful with this being nice to others thing...

Graeme, bookmarked that link - thanks
There's a fair bit of bogwood in the tank and a gravel substrate. Planting is mainly hygrophilia polysperma and vallis, with a little Java fern. Also have two Sri Lankan cryptocorenes (balansae and beckettii), hence my description of it as being an attempt at a biotope. Didn't work!

I've got a 240L/53G tank with four clowns (4-6") and an infestation of harlequins (22 I think!). Recently lost a male pearl gourami and haven't got round to replacing it yet. There's also a male black phantom tetra surviving from when this was a community tank and which hangs around on the edge of the harlequin shoal.-clown- wrote:So what is your biotope? Clown here's a link to mongabay with a list of fish from indonesia along with clown loaches (botia macracanthus).
http://fish.mongabay.com/data/Indonesia.htm
my computer wouldnt let me open the link i wanted to give you tonight, but if you click on botia macracanthus and then ecosytem, its likely to give you more details. when i was looking into biotypes for some of my fish, it could find out exactly which rivers they come from. some of the species have information such as predators and other interesting stuff
heres a link to a species summary
http://filaman.ifm-geomar.de/Summary/sp ... cracanthus
i got this to work better using an alternative rout, but there seems to be less info than for some other species, but its slightly better than nothing
good luck!
