That certainly explains it. I've heard nothing but bad things about block feeders. They've been known to completely wipe out tanks. IMO, they should be taken off the store shelves.

Never AGAIN.
In the last few mo's I've had to leave my fish for a time.
10 dy trip: I set up my auto feeders (battery operated, feeds 2x's a dy).
We are experiencing an ant problem (for about 8 mo's) & I've not wanted to set off bombs/fumigate as we would have in the past, due to my finned friends. Anyway, ants infested 1 of the auto-feeders, sooo
Mr Sea Sprite removed the feeder& forgot to feed. I lost 2 fish.

7 dy trip: I asked son's GF to do the feedings & showed her how using sun-sat pill boxes for a daytime meal & how to dip a little tank water to give them their evening meal of frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp...not sure exactly what happened but could not find 1 of my plecos. He looked like a golden nugget without the spots. Gold bands on dorsal & tail fins. A dy later moved a lg rock that was leaning against the wall that he liked to find only his skeleton at the base of it on the gravel.

Sorry about the book & thanks for the advise & support all!
