My new gastromyzon

Post by plaalye » Sat Sep 19, 2009 3:18 pm

I've just picked these two up and much to my surprise they both immediately started feeding on bloodworms etc.
I get so confused with the ID's, what say you??

The pic is washed out but there is blue in the dorsal also.

Very nice fish!!
That's a very good sign that they are eating so soon. They look to be in excellent condition.
The top one looks like zebrinus to me and the bottom one is ctenocephalus.
Nice find!

Hi plaalye!

I show backside picture of those Gastromyzon.
The top is zebrinus.
A bottom is ctenocephalus.
You may have already known it, but write down easy distinction from the back.

A difference whether or not the anal fin of right and left leaves it.
A difference whether or not the feeler of the mouth sticks out.

I cannot distinguish scitulus from ctenocephalus from the backside.
I cannot distinguish stellatus from zebrinus from the backside likewise.

I am not used to English. Therefore,It is likely to sometimes misunderstand it.
