I've searched the Internet and can't seem to find a solid answer to my question, "Can you keep Sids with German Blue Rams (M.ramezi)?"
The tank in question will be a 55GAL tank, which will be planted (of course) and on the warm side (78°F to 82°F). I know its easier to keep fish from certain areas together and mixing might cause issues.
I am curious of any one else here has done it or am I talking to the purists? ROFL

You are not going to find a solid answer. The water parameter requirements are similar, no problem that way.
Rams can be quite pushy in defending their nesting area. Rarely does this extend to the whole tank, especially such a large tank as a 55.
Sids can be playful to the point of being pests. This might bother the Rams and stress them to the point that they sicken and die. On the other hand, it might be just enough pestering that makes the Rams extra attentive parents and you might have found the perfect dithers for the Rams.
I would suggest that in a well planted 55, with some rocks and branches so there are lots of possible places for the Rams to set up housekeeping it should work. In a tank that is sort of bare there would be more problems.

I was flip flopping on the same idea myself. A 55GAL is 4' and that's plenty of room, but for sure won't be adding anymore Sids, if anything it will be 2 more Female Rams to the fry.
I know their basic water conditions are similar and was not all that worried about that. I figure you are right, they might end up making great Dithers for the Rams. Thanks Diana.

Rams are almost always pair bonded, 1M + 1F. Extra males or females are usually driven off by both the male and female that have bonded.
A very good way to get a pair, or even 2 pair is to start with about half a dozen Rams, and allow them to make their own choices of mates. Then remove the extras. The extras will get chased and harassed, often to death.
