Hi,
One of my weather loach jumped out of the tank about 2 weeks ago and must have been out of the tank for up to 12 hours. It survived despite thrashing around on the carpet for hours and seemingly damaging its skin, after it resuscitated is seemed ok, however after a week or so some of its skin has fallen off, and its tail is just pink flesh.
Is there anything i can do for it, and will it grow its skin/scales back?
Cheers,
Chris

One of mine also did that.
Best way to heal injured skin is to keep the water extra clean. Lowest possible nitrates (under 10 ppm). Do some extra water changes and vacuum the gravel really well.
Watch for bacteria (red under the skin) or fungus (White tufts) and be ready to treat. Often fish will heal with simply clean water, though.

38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.
Happy fish keeping!
