Hiya,
Has anyone heard of a Hailea H-12 Bio Filter?
Just wondered if they are popular or any good? The filteration seems pretty good but the extarnal box looks and feels really cheap and sometimes the clips come off that holds the top on.
If anyones got one or of the same make could you tell me if you have the same or different problems.
Thanks 8)

I'm not familiar with that type of filter. However, if the clips keep coming off despite your best effort at securely fastening them, then I would say it's cheaply made and not of good quality construction. It might still filter well, but I am wondering how long it can last if it's so flimsy. I wouldn't waste my money on something I couldn't trust to go together properly and stay together like it should. There are too many better quality alternatives out there.

Hmmmmm..........never heard of these before. Externally, it looks like a rip-off of the Classic Eheim design. What it lacks is the advantage of having a lift out media basket. For ease of maintenance I have always preferred filters with lift out internals. I like the old style Fluvals and the Rena Filstar series far better.

I'm guessing that if you're experiencing issues with the clips and the general "feel" of it is cheap, then it's a case of you get what you pay for. An Eheim is German engineering, 'nuff said.
