weird sidthimunki behaviour

Post by trikke » Fri Dec 28, 2012 8:02 am

Hi,

i have 13 sidthimunki's in my tank
but 2 of them have a strange behaviour
i know they sometimes play but those 2 are already for more then a week making circles on the side glass of the tank chasing each other
anyone know why ? or if they have the same behaviour sometimes ?

the rest of them dont seem to bother they stay below and in the middle of the tank.

Looks like they're having a good time! :D

I have no expertise with sids, but I have a yoyo that behaves very similarly to that. Sometimes she'll even get several other loaches to follow her while she circles the filter inlet, and it's quite entertaining to watch.

It does look like they are having fun. I have sids, but while I've never seen behavior quite like this, they do chase each other around often so I wouldn't be too concerned.

That looks like a slightly more active version of behavior I've seen with my (former) sids..my tubby girls never got to your's activity level but if someone lead the pack...they'd have tried to keep up as best they could...I miss them.

yeah well the other ones are not that active they sit at the bottom or in the stream of my powerhead
but those 2 are like this already for more then a week making circles around the powerhead :)

weird fish :D

i have 5 otto's in my aquarium sometimes they swim with the otto's and behave just like them by hanging on the window :) i realy love my sid's

i also have 10 botia striata but they are far less active then the sid's mostly they just swim around looking for food in the morning and the evening when 50% of the lights are out .
