Question about Clown Loach behavior

Post by Arden » Sat Apr 06, 2013 12:43 am

My oldest loach swims up and down up and down by the end of my tank. Usually at night and sometimes earily morning...

I have 3 juvenile clowns in a QT tank and I noticed 2 of them also do this...

Is this just normal behavior? Or are they tryinh to tell me something?

I would maybe think in the QT they where just wanting more space... but the others are in a 125. No worries abouy space there...

I know I'm probably just being a ninny fishy momma but can anyone tell me why they do this?

Hiya, this is what they do, tumbling is part of their make-up. Mine are very small and have a very large tank, they will set off for a race then stop dead, tumble over each other and set off again. Great to watch, its normal behaviour. They also sleep in very odd places or positions, like on their backs, they look dead, so dont be alarmed if you see one on its side or on its back, its just having a nap, its what they do and what makes them so fascinating to observe.

It sounds like you have one loach on his own, he will love it when he is part of family of them.
