Tibetan royal loach not eating!

Post by ml708 » Mon Jan 20, 2014 9:40 pm

I need some help here. I bought two Tibetan royal loaches two days ago and they have not eaten. The aquarium I got them from fed them on ghost shrimp. I tried the same but when they came into contact with the food they would swim away. Sinking pellets and prawn meat also met with failure.

Anyone has any success feeding them? Need help quick!

2 days is not very long for new fish to go without eating. I'd give them a week or 2 to adjust to their new home. I don't know what "Tibetan Royal" loaches are...

Well, this isn't a big deal just yet, but I will tell you that fish and shrimp located in different areas taste different based on water conditions and food supply. Did you get your ghost shrimp from the same place they get their feeding shrimp? They might feed them what they have stocked, or they might be feeding them a different variety. Some times familiar food to a fish is all about flavor and not about appearance and most fish can taste their food before they eat it. Keep an eye on them and keep checking the water parameters. Some times moving just takes your appetite.
I liek feesh. And yes, I drew that xD
