Confuzona

I have purchased six Confuzona and I am hoping that some of the members might be able to give some advice as to what to look out for in my first few weeks of Q.

Picked up yesterday added another air stone and powerhead to ten gallon Q tank added blackwater extract boiled piece of driftwood and smooth stones one plastic plant.

This morning. All of the Confuzona are perching in the plastic plant leaves as they had made their way into the powerhead current. Fish would not take flake or frozen food, and do not exhibit food searching. However when directly presented with live blackworms they gobbled them up. One of the fish would not take food even when presented directly. Uneaten food was siphoned out and RO water was used to replace.

Remember that if they are small specimens they will need smaller frozen foods at the appropriate size for their tiny mouths. Mosquito larvae etc is fine for bigger fish, but if these are little I would suggest your try them on our 'small fish mix' which is essentially frozen cyclops, daphnia, and baby brineshrimp mixed together.

I have found with my small specimens is that they are very active on and around my 'live' plants which have algae growth on them. Also they forage on the stones and wood with active algae. Basically, you will need a mature tank with all of the above. Good luck! These are truly special Hill-steam Loaches.

Orthogoniata Complex ID by Scale Keels

I have not gotten a good look at the scale patern but the color patern does represent Confuzona. I picked up freeze dried blood worms, brine shrimp and daphnia. I am hatching brine but it will be a day or so. Am I doing the right things for the fish? I do not want to loose any.
