Aggressive loach?!

Post by Kooter » Tue Jan 31, 2006 12:31 am

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and to the wonderful world of clown loaches. I had 4 loaches but recently from unknown causes 2 of them have passed on. The other two that are left have always been the top of the pecking order and very healthy. Now one of the loaches chases the other one continuously around the tank. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?! My water parameters are all ok and there are lots of hiding places.

It's a dominance/territorial thing. Generally it's recommended to keep clowns (or most botia species) in odd number groups to help keep the alpha from having only one other fish to focus on. Spreads his attention a bit farther

yeh, I think thats it. They do ok, but when they run into each other it's quite the chase! I will get some more. I plan on getting a bunch of corys too since they sometimes schoal together.
