Hillstream video of gastromyzon-biotope, 1min. 8MB

Post by wasserscheu » Thu Nov 23, 2006 5:20 am

... found that on a Finish page, don´t know how old it is...

shows for one minute some hillstreams in nature, not too sharp (quality) but great to see them in natural habitat (feeding on stones, defending stone) ... put the speaker on loud, it´s fun to hear the stream...

... needs to download over 8MB though.... i opened it with windows media player...

Oh wow, this is excellent! By the looks of the title, it was taken by Antti. I could watch this sort of footage all day!
Thanks for pointing us to it, Wolfram. 8)

Gastromyzon scitulus, so it's filmed somewhere in Borneo.

I love that you can see how fast the water is whipping by.

Martin.

Hi,

Martin: great shot with Borneo! => Sarawak

... actually I´m getting too much credit here, I googled to find that forum again, where the link was posted. Did not find the posting that I found yesterday, but another German Forum that posted that link as well 5/2005.

I appologize for not being able to name and give credit to the original posting person.

however ... still is a nice find

there is no politics amongst international Loach lovers is there? that German Forum is often pointing out yours, as an effective source of loach data...
... so I´m going to announce the posting from "Berti" (=Thomas) in this German Forum:
http://www.aquaristikimdetail.de/thread ... ht=vuorela
(5/2005) it shows also an English version of this page, this is a very nice site:

This pic from above link indicates alge-consum?

... aborychtus lovers most likely know already the "West Bengal"-pictures on that page ... googled it up already previously...

Wishing a nice day

Wolfram

Andrew has shown me some of those West Bengal pics before, they are just breathtaking. The Indonesian stuff is amazing, so many beautiful specimens and scenery - and even some water parameters!

Great stuff Wolfram, thanks for the link.

It SAYS Antti Vourela in the URL.

Yes, I had seen the page with Aborichthys before, but I don't remember seeing the other river links. Cool stuff!

I see that Antti has an article in the October PFK.

Martin.

Antti also has some P. malayana pics. We should get back in touch, methinks...
