P. semicincta or P. malayana?

Post by Mark in Vancouver » Sun Nov 26, 2006 6:45 pm

There's a bit of crud covering the caudal fin in this image, but based on the black bar at the caudal base, I'm wondering if my little loner might not be Pangio malayana after all:

Eye bar not joined under chin, bar at base of caudal fin....Yup. P malayana. In fact, I put Graeme's image of a similar fish in that profile, then later found that you (I think) had put the same image in P. semicincta..

Your pic should be substituted as the main photo in P.m. because it's far more detailed......certain people would say "superb!"

Martin.
Image Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

Here's the caudal bar, not perfect, but a telling detail. I'll x the P. semi photo.
