Article on Myanmar loaches in BSSW Report 2006 issue 4

Post by The.Dark.One » Fri Dec 29, 2006 2:54 pm

Hi All

Got my copy of the BSSW Report today (which is in German). On pages 16-23 is an article by Dr Rainer Hoyer and Gerhard Ott called "Loaches in Myanmar - Stocktaking of two journeys" (or at least thats what my online trabnslator says it means!).

On page 17 is three photo's of the same psecies showing various differences in pattern. They label it as Botia rostrata and appear to be following the Inland Fishes of Myanmar book's ID.

Page 18 is two shots of Myanmar Syncrossus berdmorei

Page 19 is Lepidocephalichthys cf. annandalei

20 - Botia histrionica (and appear to be following the Inland Fishes of Myanmar book's ID)

22 - Lepidocephalichthys berdmorei and Lepidocephalichthys hasselti

23 - Lepidocephalichthys furcatus

Havent read the article yet as it's in German but seems interesting.

that does sound interesting. would it be possible to either see a copy, or have a full reference that is stupid-librarian-proof, so that i could try and source a copy? my German is VERY rusty now, but it would be an interesting challenge!

Hi

Libraries wont carry this, probably not even the British Library.

Gerhard Ott (co author) may have a pdf version he can email. I think he visits this forum doesnt he?
