Sick Dojo Loaches

Post by cheryl4904 » Mon Jan 08, 2007 9:49 pm

About once a week my 4 dojo loaches start hanging out at the top of my 46 gallon tank. The next day they all look like their skin is peeling away. Almost turning snowy. If I then do a 50% water change, by morning they start looking better. About a week later it all starts over again? This puzzles me because I have several other fish in the tank yet they are not affected. I think only the dojos are being affected because they are the only fish that are scaleless in my tank. Any ideas why my dojos are continuously ill weekly?

Is the tank planted? What is the substrate? How long have you had them? What other fish are they living with? Can you snap a picture?

Are you sure they aren't just shedding their skin?

Do you see what looks like one big piece of white floss (about the size of your loach) in the tank after they go back to normal?
