The sight of these tattooed silver sailfin mollies is bad enough, but there is a comment at the bottom of the article that states that dyed clown loaches have gone on sale in the UK. :evil:

Horrid!!!!

Why ever would someone dye a clown----any fish for that matter---but clowns are so colorful. :x

I saw some of these Mollies today at one of the LFS. I hate that this is happening. But I'm not sure that I can blame the LFS.

In many cases, the LFS is losing a lot of business, especailly hardware, to the Internet and/or the pet superstores. They have to sell something to survive. Live stock is maybe the last remaining steady revenue stream that they have.

So, what do they sell? What people are buying. And if that is the case, then the challenge is to get 'people' to recognize what a terrible and unnatural thing tattooing and dying is, and just say 'no'. Enough no's and the market dries up.
