Ive been considering a power head for my loach tank.. What size power head would be appropriate for the following tanks, without being overpowering to the fish?
20 Gal. Low Profile
29 Gal.
40 Gal. Bow Front
55 Gal.
Thanks in advance!

i have a 70 aquaclear on my 55 gallon tank. it seems to do the trick. the guy at the lfs said you always need something more powerful than the gallon tank you are working with. so a 70 gallon jethead on a 50 gallon or a 50 on a 30 gallon. seriously on the 30 gallon, if i had anything less than 50 i don't think it would work very well. i even have trouble with the 50 sometimes on my 30 gallon. but the guy at the lfs was at petsmart and most of the time i feel like the people that work there are in the dark about the products they sell. there is one lfs that are very knowledgable here. i would ask them any questions like this as opposed to petsmart.

LoachOrgy, can I ask what you meant by this statement?LoachOrgy wrote:i am sure you will get more accurate info from the prcks here!
JWhipple, please could you tell us what filtration you have on each of those tanks? The powerheads that you choose may depend on how much flow you already have.
Many thanks,
Emma
