Ill Weather Loach with Lump

Post by Sez » Sat May 19, 2007 5:05 am

Hi

My weather loach has a lump on it's back just above it's fin about the size of a pea. I can't see any abrazions on the skin but he seems to be swimming a bit erratically on his side sometimes.

Does anyone have any ideas what this might be ?

Cheers

Sarah

Sounds like possibly a tumor or an encysted parasite of some type. Do you have any pictures? Would help alot. It's difficult to diagnose via the internet just based on short descriptions.

Any other tank info would also be appreciated. Age and size of the fish, size of the tank, temp, length of setup, water parameters, other occupants, filtration, recent disease/parasite treatment history (if any), your maintenance program and a detailed description of the behavior you're seeing along with the progression over time of the behavior if you have been observing this for several days.

Thanks. 8)
