Is this strange behavior for a Modesta?

I have four Botia Modestas in my 72 gallon. Two are big and 5-6 years old, while the other two are still fairly little and I've had them for a few months.

One of the bigger Modestas, the more aggressive of the two, has taken to laying on my bubble wall. In the bubbles. He started doing this when I buried the log he used to squish himself under into the sand. I was getting worried about how many loaches were pressing themselves into it, and I have since gotten other hiding places for them. But this blue loach, the one that so aggressively defended his old hidey hole, now likes to lay in the bubbles. As soon as I diturb him, he swims off and acts fairly normal, but he still likes that spot. It can't be an aeration issue becuase none of the other fish are gasping or acting any different. The bubble wall creates a lot of air, and so do the two filters at the surface.

Any ideaS? Or does this Modesta just like bubbles?

It's a Botiine Loach. Expect the unexpected, it's part of why they're so fascinating.

No Modesta's here, but I had Yoyo's doing just this, and also when the preferred hiding place was unavailable.

That's what I figured, it's just botia behavior. I'm just making sure it's not an aeration issue, but like I said, there's quite a bit of air going in the tank. I'm assuming he;s just not happy because I took away his hiding spot (which was getting too crowded).
