I dont know if others have obsereved this , but these fish seem to prefer to hang upside down , under caves or wood etc, of the ten i have more prefer this position , than say being the right way up , on the substrate ! ?

That's interesting about the fish hanging upside down. My "albino ancistrus" (not quite sure that's what it is) does the same thing. He spends a lot of his time upside down on a piece of wood that I've got suctioned to the side of the tank, but sometimes switches to the ceiling of a coconut cave.

(I know, he is not a loach, but I felt it was worth mentioning as a comparison to loach behavior.)

Just thought about this, i guess its safer , to be hidden from possible predators, than being on view from above !
