new to loaches
and lovin it - this pleco lover has kinda fallen into sewellia - saw 2 undescribed fascinating fish during a receiving shipment day at the lfs and i did something i havent done since my first pleco purchase over 15 yrs ago: i bought 2 fish on the spot w/o even knowing what they were. that was 3 mos ago and during a routine feeding of my 90 gall tall tank last night, i saw a small brownish movement on my bogwood and to my absolute delight, it was a baby sewellia - seems the pair i purchased that day are male/female (i am now noticing his fences and the other has none) will post pics soon

Hi and thnx Shari2
I need to thank Martin Thoene since it was his article here http://www.loaches.com/articles/hillstr ... -fast-lane
that was of huge help to me once I finally did research what it was I had purchased a few mos ago - it prompted me to add a powerful luft pump and airstone strip that has proven beneficial to ALL my fish, not just the Sewellia.
I will be doing some water changes today (carefully) and will grab a pic or two if i can

Congratulations on the breeding the Sewellia lineolata.
Did you see this article I wrote a while ago on this subject? http://www.loaches.com/articles/breeding-sewellia There is a large composite picture included which shows how they develop.
