this one seems to be a sole survivor in a tank of denison and cherry barbs, cardinal tetras and 3 plecos (caviar is on the menu for these guys)

Very cute. 8) Looks to be quite well developed too, the spawning probably occured some time back.

I see that now having read your article on your own experiences :) - it was also your post here that summarized that article that led me to check my canister filters just in case and surprise! tho i found another sole survivor, it WASN'T of the loach lol - looks to be a cherry barb :shock: - I gently scooped it out and placed it into my aquarium and it began to swim almost immediately with the adult cherries

i really need to pay more attention to my fish :oops: lol

a better pose of one of the adults - i am not qute sure how to tell which is male/female

The shape of the shoulders. The one shown above on the tank glass is likely the male.
