how does this sound?

Post by thezookeeper » Mon Apr 17, 2006 9:37 pm

future 30 gallon tank

3 pangio myersi
4 botia kubotai
1 dwarf bristlenose pleco
? dither fish

i haven't decided on a dither yet, i want something colorful and active that schools and stays near the surface.

filter: probably an aquaclear, definately something that can produce a lot of water movement
temp: around 75F?
substrate: eco-complete
decor: lots of driftwood, mix of silk and live plants
lighting: low

what do you guys think? any suggestions as far as dithers?

Dwarf bristlenose? Do those stay smaller than the normal ones? I've never heard of them.

I think praecox rainbows are nice. Fast, colorful, mid level fish, they fit the description of what you'd like rather well. I'm not certain, but I don't think you'll be seeing your kuhlis much with the more outgoing kubotai in there with them. Maybe you will, though. I've heard mixed results from that kind of setup.
