Post by Hell Fire » Sun Oct 07, 2007 10:16 am

Not sure if yu remember ages ag i had a parasite in the gravel which killed a few of my zebra loach. I managed to save on but newly names him stumpy as with the illness he lost half his tail. All my loaches are happy and healthy including him but after months and mnths the tails still nt grown back. It desnt seem to be a problem to him but does anyne knw if it will ever grow back? I keep a close eye encase it gets infected but its all healed just loks dd bless him. He was even the dominant lach untill several weeks ago when another one tok ver after growing bigger than him!

If it has not grown back after several months it probably won't. Was the damage deeper into the caudal peduncle, not just the fin? I have usually seen fin damage grow out in a few days to a week or two (depending on the severity) but once the thicker, muscled part is damaged recovery is less likely.
