Some Extreme Macro shots of loaches!

Post by Vancmann » Wed Oct 10, 2007 2:01 am

Here are a few Macro pics I took of my loaches using a 6 Mega pixel camera. They are still shy especially when the lights are on so it is hard to approach some of them closer than 11-12 inches with all the camera gear. Hopefully one day they get so use to the lens that I can move in closer, within a couple inches, to get some extreme macros.

Yup, only 6. Pixels are highly over rated and should be the last thing to consider in a camera. Here is an example I took using Extreme macro and 6MP. I was within an inch or so from the Damsel Fly. It was night so he was stunned by the nightlights and he allowed me to get very close.

Very nice detail. My camera is 3.2 mega pixel and I can't get anything even remotely close to the quality of those shots.

I'd assume he was using a macro lense correct?

Like he said its not about mega pixels. My 3.2 MP can get decent close ups even with no macro feature, like this and that camera already has 3 newer versions out. But if I add the macro lense that would make a huge difference for under $100, as I would be able to get several times more magnification.

Good pics!
