I have a black kuhli I've had for about a month. He seems to have a lack of pigment or something. Since I've had him this long I would imagine a disease would have shown itself by now, and he acts perfectly fine. His nose and barbels as well as his pectoral fins are white, and the rest of his body is sort of mottled, just exactly as if he had a lack of pigment. I was trying to wait till I had a picture to post about this, but he doesn't stay still long enough for me to turn my camera on.
Any comments?

Does he look similar to this Pangio>>http://www.loaches.com/species-index/pangio-filinaris
It's hard to judge without a picture MoonPye, but it is possible that you may have a different species, rather than the Black kuhli aka, Pangio oblonga.

Graeme, No, definitely does not look like that.
Loachmom, the dark parts of your kuhli are exactly what my whole loach looks like (he doesn't have the stripes of course), except that his nose & pec fins are all washed out white. Instead of stripes, his entire body looks like that.
I keep trying to get a pic of him but it just seems impossible! He's not very cooperative!!
