Count your blessings (wrt LFSs)

Post by bslindgren » Sat Dec 01, 2007 8:13 pm

I checked around town in the three places that sell fish here in Prince George (a town of about 75000 if you wonder). The specialty store have most unusual species mislabelled (but at least the personnel isn't changin every two days so I can talk to them), WalMart sells small clown loaches, oscars, regular plecos and similar t0-be-giants on a regular basis (presumably to the same poeple that buy the bettas they have in food containers), and PetCetera sell fish as soon as they are big enough to remotely resemble the adult at outrageous prices. Today it was $24 per fish for what they sold as "polka dot loaches" but in fact were yoyo's that probably weren't even 1 inch long. No, that was not a typo - I wrote twentyfour. I should stick to guppys.......
Why does my aquarium always seem too small?

Ay yi yi! PG must be a hard place to keep fish. $24. for almorhae fry? Crazy.

I did a stint of tree planting out of PG in 1988. As winter moves in, I feel for you. I'll email you some hot air!
