I have seen these but have concerns over the growth of algea inside the area about the heater where the water flows and that causing a loss of cooling and a short lifespan for the heater. I don't like the idea of not seeing the glass with everything "inside" the flow tube.We have been hearing rave reviews of the new Smart Heaters by Rena:

Am I just thinking old school here?
It seems it would not last with food and all going into it and causing problems by plugging or fouling around the heater itself.
Is this the heater I am thinking of? It looks to let water flow around it inside a housing like a UV light or is this different. I like the idea of a warning light .That is a novel idea
