A while ago I kept a group of 6-8 S. robusta in a community tank with B. dario, B. modesta, B. morleti and S. longiventralis and they seemed to get along ok. My suggestion to you if you put him with the more placid loaches is to make sure there are crap loads of hiding places just to make sure he won't get in a fight with the other, resident fish, and possibly damage them.
From my experience when kept in a shoal, robusta are very outgoing and diurnal fish.
