Update on the sewellia.
Well, it may not surprise many of you that I have been camped out by the sewellia tank the last couple of days. I am very encouraged by what I am seeing. I have also made some observations.
The fish are not as skittish as some other hillstreams and don't seem to mind being watched unless I move to quickly while approaching the tank.
They seem to stay up later and sleep in longer than most hillstreams, especially gastros which seem to go to bed at about 9pm and get up before lights on.
They actively forage most of the day similar to chenis grazing algae and I THINK some stray bloodworms.
I definately saw one feeding on a Omega One Veggie round. :D
These are amazing little fish that are very entertaining to watch.
Now, if I could just get some confuzona...

I just had a pleasure of looking at a tank of confuzonas.

I've never even seen a tank full of confuzona. Just one or two at a time.
I bet they would look even better after they settle in, start feeding and color up.

I would not know. The colors were right already I think. And they were active, doing surprizing amount of swimming around.

That's a good sign. Now go look at Emma's new thread on the subject.

I found that the sewellia just LOVE Marineland Labs Bio Blend Bottom feeder tablets. They sit on them and eat for a bit, run off and graze on algae and them come back. They just can't stay away.
I have found that all my other hillstreams really like this food, too.

Interesting! We have similar commercial bottom sinking foods here and my sewellia also like to munch on them every now and then. Good sign, that they are eating well, Jim. 8)
